Meet the Doulas
Louisville & Southern Indiana Doulas
We are the Joys of Birth Doulas! Through our births, we discovered a love and passion for childbirth education, labor & delivery support, and postpartum support. Our mission is to educate and support parents as they discover the joys of birth for themselves. We believe that birth is beautiful. We, as doulas, are here to enhance your birth experience, answer any questions or fears you may have, and build strong relationships along the way! We work together as a team to ensure that each of our clients has the support they need no matter when their birth happens.
Experience and Training
All of the Joys of Birth Doulas have trained through DONA International or the Madriella Doula Network. Together, we have experience in VBAC, unmedicated births, inductions, birth by cesarean, and breech twin birth. We have attended births at every hospital in the Kentuckiana area and have a good rapport with the midwives at these hospitals. We also love working with the midwives at the Tree of Life Birth Center and all our local homebirth midwives. Our goal is to support mothers in the birth that they desire. We provide education when needed and help to provide resources so women can give birth on their own terms.

“Hanna was an incredible comfort during my labor and delivery and a huge reason that I had such a great birth experience. She was a calming presence during the whole process and pushed me when I needed it. My labor was not progressing quickly enough, so Hanna jumped right in and started to do exercises and different things with me to help my labor progress. Although in the moment some of the exercises were difficult, it worked perfectly, and my body quickly progressed and I was able to have the birth experience I wanted by having my baby at the birth center.
